We are a family with three children. Our oldest son (17 years old) is autistic, and he has grown into an amazing young man who now helps us himself. From our own experience, we know how demanding it can be to care for a child with a disability. That is why we decided to help other families by creating a children’s group where these children are truly welcome.
Our goal is to support parents of children with disabilities, giving them time to take care of everyday tasks like shopping or important appointments, and, most importantly, to rest and recharge so they can provide daily care for their child. At the same time, we want to help develop the children’s skills and provide them with a sense of success, joy, and safety, offering the best possible care – including regular visits from specialists (physiotherapist, occupational therapist, psychologist) and opportunities for special therapies (for example, canine-assisted therapy). In the future, we hope to create a snoezelen room or a salt cave.
Our interest in different ways of supporting children with disabilities led us to study special education. Originally, we planned to use grants, but the operational conditions turned out to be very demanding. We decided to return the grants and are building the entire project with our own resources.
This fundraiser is dedicated to completing the children’s group. The financial support we need is primarily for missing materials and essential equipment. We want to equip the group with the most modern tools to ensure the effective development of children with disabilities.
